The Gathering (with music)
An Oriki (praise song or poem) offered to Iku, The Divine Spirit of Death. Within the council of Orisha, Iku is nominally the most senior and called first. This is in contrast to Orunmila, Divine Spirit of Destiny, who is called last though the first born of Olorun, King of Heaven. In some senses the order of the praise songs reflects the principles of existence. Iku collects life when it has ended. Orunmila is there when destinies are forged and new life begins.
Orunmila, Witness to Destiny in its Creation and firstborn of Olorun.
Orunmila tells his siblings of a dream that will change their destinies.
A praise song, or Oriki, offered to Olorun by his children.
The Orisha discuss the nature of Orunmila’s prophecy and what it means for them.
